Personal Profile

I am Kojo Botsio Nyame. I am from Jamaica, land of wood and water. All my names are African in origin with powerful meanings. Kojo means “male child born on a Monday”, Botso means “dew” and Nyame can be translated as “connected to God” – So all together – “I was born on a Monday, I am fresh as the morning dew, and connected to God.” I am fully covered.
I did my degree a long time ago in Computer Science at The University of The West Indies, Mona campus in Jamaica. My favourite course was networking. I did many other courses including “Gender Studies” because I did my degree through the Faculty of Arts (now called The Faculty of Arts and Humanities). I figured I could understand the female species of the human race but I failed to do so. I did leave with certain insights which shall remain my secrets.
It took me three years to reach here I had to trust God and with friends, be very creative to reach here as a self funded student. My overarching passion is for the poor and that is why my Literature Review was on E-learning in Marginalized Communities. Like I said elsewhere, if the Master Teacher, Jesus hang out with the poor then I need to follow suit. Further more He said they are the greatest in the kingdom. I figure I want to be great so I will hang out with the greatest people on earth, the poor.
So I will, note the certainty. I WILL work with the United Nations and other International Agency in social intervention programmes using e-learning and business creation in marginalized communities worldwide. I stay up at nights thinking of ways to transform marginalised communities. I see the MADTCE and in particular, Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies as providing me with the requisite skills with which I can live this dream. I look forward to learning all I can and more from this course.

Dear Kojo,
I admire your determination. Perhaps we’ll meet, because my motivation post being MA qualified (in fact, why wait?) is to look for a position with the UN or some other international development-type agency. I’ve long had the calling …
Take care and enjoy!

Definitely, Why wait. I say start looking into ways we can position ourselves for such jobs. See what they have to offer and also the areas of research available.
Hello, Kojo. Your blog is really nice.
Thanks, Fahad. I like your blog too and I see you ensure we know where the Oman is located. Thanks for that, now we can stop asking you “where is Oman?”
Kojo i really loved your blog. It is really inspirational. You are right above all we are humans and what makes the difference in life are those little things that most of the time we take as a granded. Love, a smile, a good word that come from our heart. Unfortunately, nowadays these things are becoming more rare.
Lastly, ” the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart”. (Helen Keller)
Yes Kojo, I support your dream to make a contribution to others. I was taught by my university vice-chancellor, to “Ask not what your country has done for you but ask what you have done for your country”.
We have a responsibility and your dream is worth fulfilling
